Hey everyone! Just saw the teaser for the upcoming ‘The Naked Gun’ reboot, and I have mixed feelings. Liam Neeson is stepping into the role of Frank Drebin Jr., with Akiva Schaffer directing and Seth MacFarlane producing. It’s slated for release on August 1, 2025. What are your thoughts on this reboot? Can Neeson pull off the comedic chops needed for such an iconic role?

Honestly, I’m skeptical. The original ‘Naked Gun’ movies were classics, and Leslie Nielsen’s deadpan delivery was unmatched. Neeson is great in action roles, but comedy? Not so sure.

I get the hesitation, but remember Neeson in ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’? He showed some comedic timing there. Plus, with Schaffer and MacFarlane involved, the humor might just hit the right notes

It’s hard to imagine anyone filling Nielsen’s sh*es. That said, if they honor the original’s spirit and don’t just rely on slapstick, it could work. I’m cautiously optimistic

Neeson in a comedy? That’s like casting Jim Carrey in ‘Taken’. But hey, maybe he’ll surprise us.

I saw the teaser too. The scene where Neeson, dressed as a schoolgirl, takes down bank robbers with a lollipop had me chuckling. If that’s the tone they’re going for, it might just work

Pamela Anderson is in this too, right? Haven’t seen her in movies for a while. Wonder what role she’ll play.

Fun fact: The original ‘Naked Gun’ was based on the TV show ‘Police Squad!’. Hope they include some nods to that in the reboot

Reboots rarely capture the magic of the originals. I’m not holding my breath.

While reboots can be hit or miss, the involvement of Schaffer and MacFarlane gives me hope. They’re known for their comedic work.

Let’s not forget, Neeson started in serious dramas before becoming an action star. Maybe comedy is just another genre he’s ready to tackle.

If they bring back the absurd humor and visual gags, I’m all in. The originals had a unique charm that’s hard to replicate

I just hope they don’t overdo the modern references. Keep it timeless like the originals.

Remember O.J. Simpson’s role in the original series? Wonder how they’ll address or reference that, given the controversies

Neeson has a ‘particular set of sk**ls’—let’s see if comedy is one of them.

I’m just excited to see a new take on a classic. Even if it’s not perfect, it’ll be fun to revisit that world.

At the end of the day, it’s all about the script. If the writing is sharp and witty, the actors will shine

Let’s give it a chance. Worst case, we rewatch the originals and appreciate them even more.

Reboots are just cash grabs. Hollywood needs original ideas.

While I agree Hollywood leans on reboots, sometimes they introduce classics to a new generation.

I’ll wait for reviews before deciding to watch. Trailers can be deceiving
